To be clear, we don’t want it! We respect your privacy and we only collect the information we need to process your order and ship it.
That said our shipping partners require them for international orders and are increasingly requiring them for domestic orders as well.
Australia and New Zealand:
Orders shipped to Australia and New Zealand include a small US$15 regional surcharge to help smooth out the wildly different shipping costs in the region.
Shipping to major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland is often quite reasonable, but many orders go to remote areas where carrier rates can be several times higher. Instead of using complex, location-by-location pricing or raising prices across the board, we apply a simple regional surcharge and still continue to absorb part of the extra cost ourselves.
This lets us keep pricing straightforward and ship to customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Generally speaking, yes.
If all 24-words are 8 characters long, it would exceed the washer’s capacity by 14 characters (including spaces). While unlikely, truncating some words could be necessary. The BIP39 word list has no words that repeat the first four characters, so only the first four letters of each word are needed for recovery (assuming you can access the list).
Regardless, in almost all cases, you’ll be within the 240-character capacity of the washer (including numbers and/or spaces).
They are standard 1″ x 1/4″ (25.4 mm x 6.35 mm) fender washers that are readily available at any hardware store or on Amazon.
The closest (and very common) metric equivalent is a 25mm M6 fender washer (25mm x 6.35mm). This is slightly smaller than an imperial washer (25.4mm) but should work just fine in the MicroSeed.
Aligning 1mm stamps accurately turns out to be a bit of an engineering challenge due to their small size and the quirks of hand stamping. This can cause imperfections like letter crowding, minor overlapping, or slight misalignments.
Applying light, consistent finger pressure on one side of the punch will help mitigate these issues. Nevertheless, the words will generally remain legible, even with minor imperfections.

Refunds, if approved, are processed via the original payment method, in the original amount tendered (for Bitcoin payments, minus network fees) within 3-5 business days.

We only accept returns for mechanical defects (e.g., the thing doesn’t work). If your MicroSeed is truly broken (somehow) contact us at: support@microseed.io and we will set up an RMA to get a replacement to you.
