Australia and New Zealand:
Orders shipped to Australia and New Zealand include a small US$15 regional surcharge to help smooth out the wildly different shipping costs in the region.
Shipping to major cities like Sydney, Melbourne, and Auckland is often quite reasonable, but many orders go to remote areas where carrier rates can be several times higher. Instead of using complex, location-by-location pricing or raising prices across the board, we apply a simple regional surcharge and still continue to absorb part of the extra cost ourselves.
This lets us keep pricing straightforward and ship to customers throughout Australia and New Zealand.

Generally speaking, yes.
If all 24-words are 8 characters long, it would exceed the washer’s capacity by 14 characters (including spaces). While unlikely, truncating some words could be necessary. The BIP39 word list has no words that repeat the first four characters, so only the first four letters of each word are needed for recovery (assuming you can access the list).
Regardless, in almost all cases, you’ll be within the 240-character capacity of the washer (including numbers and/or spaces).
Gen2 uses standard 1 1/4″ x 1/4″ (32mm x M6) fender washers that are readily available at any hardware store or on Amazon.
Gen1 (with a table) uses 1″ x 1/4″ (25mm x M6) fender washers.
Aligning 1mm stamps accurately turns out to be a bit of an engineering challenge due to their small size and the quirks of hand stamping. This can cause imperfections like letter crowding, minor overlapping, or slight misalignments.
Applying light, consistent finger pressure on one side of the punch will help mitigate these issues. Nevertheless, the words will generally remain legible, even with minor imperfections.

We only accept returns for mechanical defects (e.g., the thing doesn’t work). If your MicroSeed is truly broken (somehow) contact us at: support@microseed.io and we will set up an RMA to get a replacement to you.

Generally speaking, the special character and lower case punch sets are compatible with all versions of the MicroSeed. However, some Gen1 users may have fitment issues where the punch will not pass from the top > down and must instead be loaded from the bottom > up.
The issue arises because of the tight tolerance band we ran on the early versions of the MicroSeed alignment holes and the slight variation that occurs when forging hardened steel punches. With high pressure forging, the tip of the punch will “bloom” slightly and with the larger 2mm & 2.5mm punches, this can result in punches that cannot pass cleanly in the holes sized for 1mm punches.
If you load the punch from the bottom, the blooming issue at the tip is removed, it’s just more inconvenient to stamp. If you have questions please contact us at: support@microseed.io before you order.
